If we are adding the defense str and the offense str together, does that force it so that a good defense is more negative, while a bad defense is more positive?
Yeah that’s right
and if we subtracted, the model would just automatically adjust and invert that relationship, right?
The Wizards do surprisingly well in the offensive ratings. Clear sign something's off ;)
